I was able to get two more hikes in, 4.1 and 3.4 miles with the dog, during the last week of the year.

These last two hikes brought me to 322.1 hiking miles and 138.5 biking miles for a grand total of 460.6 miles in 2017.
I could sit here and list all the excuses for why I did not reach my goal: it was an exceptionally hot summer and fall; I traveled more than I had expected; I had to get my house ready to sell; my cousin died; my dog died… Or I can simply say I just didn’t reach my goal.
I did not reach my goal, and I’m ok with that.
Why am I ok with not reaching my goal? Because I still had an incredible year! I went on 38 bike rides and 69 hikes! I went on one backpacking trip. I hiked in 3 different states. I hiked in 4 National Parks. I hiked to 5 different waterfalls. I summited 8 mountains, one of them with my sister on her first ever summit hike! I made new friends and finally understand the phrase Find Your Tribe. I exceeded 2016’s mileage by 45.9 miles. And, I DID complete the 365 Mile Challenge!
